Identify the software asset
Start with the product, version and components included in the brief. Explain whether the enquiry concerns source code, a commercial product, contractual rights or a wider business. Record third-party components and licences for appropriate specialist review rather than assuming every part is owned outright.
Connect the records
Prepare available development records, product revenue, support costs, customer agreements and the roadmap. Separate existing functionality from planned features. An initial information review can identify which figures relate to the software and which belong to broader services or operations.
Model the question you are asking
A sale, licence negotiation and internal investment decision can require different analysis. We discuss the financial scope and any technical or legal expertise needed before accepting the work. A development budget alone is not a concluded valuation.
